St. Ann Catholic Church (Excelsior Springs, MO)
Kansas City Stained Glass worked with St. Ann Catholic Church in Excelsior Springs on a complete sanctuary transformation that elevated a dark, dated 1970s interior into a bright, uplifting worship environment. The church originally featured heavy wood paneling and dim green-and-yellow glass that darkened the space. Father Kevin Drew partnered with our designer, Sarah Marai, to replace the old glass with custom stained glass filled with theological symbolism and radiant color. The highlight of the renovation was an LED-backlit St. Anne window installed where no natural window existed, crafted to glow with warm, lifelike light. Sarah incorporated garden and trellis motifs representing St. Anne as the motherly support for Mary—the “Mystical Rose”—and subtle red accents throughout the sanctuary symbolizing the royal and mystical bloodline of Christ. The result is a sanctuary filled with light, beauty, and renewed spiritual energy.
