Saint John Paul II Catholic Church (Pagosa Springs, CO)
Kansas City Stained Glass proudly collaborated with Saint John Paul II Catholic Church in Pagosa Springs on a chapel addition that required a thoughtful blend of symbolism, artistry, and architectural sensitivity. The church hoped to honor the four apostles through stained glass, but the chapel’s irregularly shaped windows presented significant design challenges. Our team conducted theological research to identify meaningful symbols and incorporated radiant motifs such as circular medallions, sunbursts, and descending rays of light to express divine guidance and apostolic mission. To meet budget needs, we simplified background glass while applying detailed hand-painting to the most important symbolic elements. Soft, glowing tones bring warmth and reverence into the chapel, helping the space feel serene, balanced, and spiritually grounded. The final installation unifies architecture, faith, and artistry in a way that beautifully enriches the worship experience.
